The Bespoke Process
Consultation
We begin with a conversation about what you need - whether it is a single blazer, a working wardrobe, or something for a specific occasion. We discuss your style preferences, the environments you dress for, and any reference images or ideas you bring.
Cloth Selection
We present cloth options suited to your garment - worsted wool, linen, cotton, silk, or tweed. You feel the cloths, see them in natural light, and choose based on weight, texture, and colour. We advise on what works best for your commission.
Measurements & Pattern
We take a full set of measurements - over 30 data points - and draft a unique pattern for your body. Unlike menswear patterns adapted for women, our patterns are built from scratch for the female form, with darting, waist shaping, and proportions specific to you.
First Fitting
The garment is assembled in basting (temporary stitching) and fitted to your body. We assess fit, balance, posture, and ease of movement. Adjustments are marked and the garment returns to the workroom for construction.
Final Fitting & Delivery
The finished garment is fitted, with final refinements made if needed. For jackets and suits, this typically involves minor adjustments to sleeve length, button positioning, or collar set. The completed garment is pressed and delivered.
Turnaround is typically 8 to 12 weeks from first consultation to delivery, depending on the complexity of the commission. Rush commissions can be accommodated - please contact us to discuss.

Do you make women's suits differently from men's?
Yes. We draft women's patterns from scratch for the female form rather than adapting a menswear block. The darting, waist shaping, shoulder slope, and proportions are specific to each client. The construction standard - full canvas, hand-finishing, British and Italian cloths - is identical.
What cloths are available for women's tailoring?
The full range. Worsted wool, flannel, linen, cotton, tweed, cashmere, velvet, and silk - the same cloths we use for menswear. Many women choose lighter weights and softer drapes, but there are no restrictions.
How long does a women's bespoke suit take?
8 to 12 weeks from first consultation to delivery. The process includes a consultation, cloth selection, measurements, pattern drafting, and two to three fittings. Rush commissions can sometimes be accommodated within 6 weeks.
Can I commission individual pieces rather than a full suit?
Absolutely. Many clients start with a single blazer or a pair of tailored trousers before commissioning a full suit. Individual pieces start from £600 for trousers, £1,200 for a blazer, and £450 for a waistcoat.
