Whether it is a tweed jacket thrown over a country shirt, an overcoat draped across a suit for a winter commute, or a morning coat worn to your daughter's wedding, the outerwear you commission defines the impression you leave. We approach each piece with the same discipline as our suits: full canvas construction where appropriate, hand-padded lapels, and cloth sourced from the mills we trust. The difference is in the weight, the structure, and the purpose - and those are the conversations we most enjoy having.

What We Make
Tweed Jackets
Bespoke tweed jackets in Harris Tweed, Donegal tweed, and estate tweeds - hand-woven cloths with real character. Cut with patch pockets, elbow patches optional, and half-lined in Cupro for comfort. The perfect country jacket for weekend wear, shooting, and smart-casual occasions. Pair with flannel trousers or moleskins.
Overcoats
Full-length and three-quarter overcoats in cashmere, wool melton, camel hair, and covert twill. From the formal Chesterfield with velvet collar to the sporting covert coat with signature stitching at the hem and cuffs. Structured to layer over suits without restricting the shoulders.
Peacoats & Reefers
Double-breasted naval outerwear in heavy melton wool. Horn buttons, clean shoulders, and a length that works over knitwear or tailoring. The reefer jacket - the peacoat's longer, more refined cousin - bridges outerwear and formal dressing.
Trench Coats
Bespoke trench coats in gabardine and cotton twill. Storm flaps, throat latch, gun flap, and hand-finished buckles. Cut to your exact proportions in stone, navy, black, or olive. Water-resistant gabardine for London weather; cotton twill for lighter wear.
Blazers & Sport Coats
The navy blazer is the most versatile jacket in menswear. Unstructured and half-lined options in linen, cotton, hopsack, and lightweight wool. Patch pockets or jetted, horn buttons or brass. The foundation of a wardrobe beyond the suit.
Gilets & Waistcoats
Layering pieces in tweed, quilted wool, or knitted cashmere for warmth without bulk. Formal waistcoats in silk-backed wool for three-piece suits. Worn under a jacket in the field or over a shirt at a country lunch.
Morning Coats
Crafted in barathea, herringbone, or lightweight fresco with full canvas construction. Paired with striped trousers and optional contrast waistcoats.
Velvet Jackets
Cotton velvet or silk-blend velvet in midnight navy, burgundy, forest green, chocolate, and seasonal shades. Fully or half-lined with statement lining options.
Smoking Jackets
Shawl collar or peak lapel with silk satin or grosgrain facings. Optional braided frogging, quilted lining, and bespoke embroidery.
Norfolk Jackets
The classic English shooting jacket. Box pleats for freedom of movement, self-fabric belt, bellows pockets. Made in Harris Tweed, Donegal tweed, or thornproof cloth.

The Outerwear Process
Consultation
We begin by understanding the garment's purpose - the season, the occasions, how it will be layered, and your preferences on length, weight, and structure. Outerwear has different demands from suiting, and this conversation shapes every decision that follows.
Cloth Selection
We guide you through our outerwear-weight cloths - Harris Tweeds, Yorkshire flannels, Melton wools, cashmere, camel hair, gabardine, and more - from mills including Holland & Sherry, Standeven, Abraham Moon, and Fox Brothers. We discuss warmth, drape, water resistance, and how the cloth will age.
Measurements & Pattern
A unique pattern is drafted from scratch for your body. Outerwear patterns account for additional ease over suits, shoulder structure for heavier cloths, and sleeve angles that accommodate layers underneath without restricting movement.
First Fitting
The basted garment is tried on over the clothing you intend to wear beneath it - a suit, knitwear, or shirt. We assess balance, length, shoulder pitch, and how the garment sits when buttoned and unbuttoned. Outerwear must look right in multiple configurations.
Second Fitting
Construction is largely complete. We check functional details - pocket placement, button spacing, collar stand, and how the garment moves with you. Heavier cloths require particular attention to how seams sit and how the garment hangs under its own weight.
Final Fitting & Delivery
Your finished piece is pressed, inspected, and presented in person. We walk through care instructions specific to the cloth - tweed, cashmere, and gabardine each have different requirements. Your pattern is stored permanently for future commissions.
