A bespoke shirt is the foundation of how a suit looks and feels. The collar frames the face and the tie. The cuff sets the line of the sleeve. The body follows the torso without excess fabric. None of this can be achieved with a standard size chart. We cut each shirt from a unique pattern drafted for the individual - your neck, your shoulder slope, your arm length, your preferred cuff and collar. The cloth is chosen to match your needs: Sea Island cotton for luxury, poplin for business, oxford for weekends. Every shirt we make is a garment you will reach for first.

Consultation
We begin by understanding how you wear shirts - the environments you dress for, whether you wear ties, how you prefer the collar to sit, and any fit issues you have experienced with off-the-rack or made-to-measure shirts. We discuss collar style, cuff type, placket preference, and any monogramming.
Cloth Selection
We present our cotton and linen collections - Sea Island cotton for exceptional softness and lustre, Swiss poplin for crisp business shirts, Oxford weave for weekend wear, and Irish linen for summer. You choose the weight, weave, and colour based on how the cloth feels and looks in natural light.
Measurements & Pattern
We take over 15 measurements including neck, chest, shoulder, arm length, wrist, back length, and body taper. These are used to draft a unique paper pattern for your body. Unlike off-the-rack shirts that use a single neck measurement and a standard body shape, a bespoke pattern accommodates your exact shoulder slope, posture, and arm length.
First Fitting
The first shirt is made and fitted to your body. We check the collar height and set, the cuff drop, the chest fit, the body taper, and the back yoke. The collar is the most critical element - it must sit flat against the neck without gaping, and frame the face and tie correctly. Adjustments are marked and your pattern is refined.
Delivery
The finished shirts are pressed, folded, and presented with collar stays and a care guide. Your pattern is stored permanently - future commissions require no additional fittings unless your body changes. Most clients commission 3 to 6 shirts at a time to build a working rotation. Bespoke shirts start from £200 in premium poplin and from £500 in Sea Island cotton.

Building Your First Rotation
Most clients commission three to six shirts on their first order. This establishes your pattern and builds a practical working rotation. Our recommendation for a versatile foundation:
White Poplin - Spread Collar
The essential business shirt. A spread collar accommodates any tie knot and sits cleanly under a suit jacket. Barrel cuffs for daily wear.
Light Blue Poplin - Cutaway Collar
The second staple. A cutaway collar gives a modern, open neckline that works with or without a tie. Double cuffs for a touch of formality.
White or Blue Oxford - Button-Down Collar
Your weekend and smart-casual shirt. Heavier cloth, softer collar, worn open-necked with a blazer or under a v-neck knit.
THE PERSONAL TOUCH
Monogramming
Hand-embroidered initials placed on the cuff, chest pocket, or collar point. Choose from block capitals, script, or diamond formation. Thread colour matched to the cloth or contrasted in navy, white, or gold. Included on all bespoke shirt commissions of three or more.

Egyptian Cotton
BusinessLong-staple fibres produce a smooth, lustrous finish that softens with every wash. Stronger than standard cotton with a subtle sheen.
Sea Island Cotton
LuxuryThe rarest cotton in the world, grown in the Caribbean. Exceptionally fine, silky to the touch, with a natural lustre that no other fibre can match.
Linen
SummerLight, breathable, and naturally temperature-regulating. Creases are part of its character. Best for summer and warm climates.
Oxford Cloth
WeekendA heavier basket weave with visible texture. Relaxed and durable, designed for button-down collars and weekend wear.
Poplin
BusinessA tight, plain weave that produces the crispest possible finish. The standard for business shirts - smooth, clean, and professional.
Twill

How many shirts should I commission on my first order?
We recommend a minimum of three. This establishes your pattern and gives you a practical working rotation. Most clients commission three to six shirts initially, then reorder individually as needed.
Can I bring my own fabric?
Yes. We are happy to work with client-supplied cloth, provided the quality and weight are suitable for shirtmaking. We will assess the fabric during your consultation and advise on suitability.
How do I care for Sea Island cotton shirts?
Hand wash or machine wash at 30 degrees on a delicate cycle. Hang to dry on a wooden hanger. Iron while slightly damp on a medium setting. Sea Island cotton improves with washing but avoid tumble drying.
What is the difference between poplin and twill?
Poplin is a tight, plain weave that produces a smooth, crisp finish - ideal for business shirts. Twill has a diagonal weave pattern that gives a softer drape and subtle texture - slightly more casual and more forgiving of creasing.
Do I need fittings on repeat orders?
No. Your pattern is stored permanently. Future shirts can be commissioned remotely with no additional fittings unless your body has changed.
Do I have to pay everything upfront?
No. We offer flexible payment terms. A deposit is taken when you place your order, with the balance due on delivery. We do not use third-party finance.
