The Epsom Derby is the richest race in British flat racing and one of the five Classics. Held on the first Saturday in June, it draws the same crowd that attends Royal Ascot a fortnight later. The Queen's Stand dress code requires morning dress or a lounge suit with tie. For many clients, the Derby commission and the Ascot commission are planned together.

Do I need morning dress for the Derby?
Morning dress is accepted and appropriate in the Queen's Stand but not required. A well-cut lounge suit with tie is the most common choice. Morning dress is more typical at Royal Ascot.
Can I wear the same suit to the Derby and Ascot?
If you are attending both, we recommend commissioning for Ascot first (morning dress) and wearing a lounge suit to the Derby. Many clients commission both together to coordinate.
How far ahead should I commission?
Allow 8-10 weeks for a bespoke suit. If commissioning for both Derby and Ascot, start in March.
